DESCRIPTION:EP|YAF Presents \nVirtual Hard Hat Tour of  \nNC Central Student Center \nWednesday\, October 21 | 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm \n1 LU credit \nAll are welcome and hard hats are optional! \n\nAIA Members/AIA Triangle Annual Partners/Students: $0 | Non Members: $35\nOnline program – registration required\nDeadline to register is 10:00 am on Wednesday\, October 21st\nZoom meeting link will be emailed to registrants the morning of the program\n\n\nJoin EP|YAF for a virtual architectural tour of the NC Central Student Center as Duda|Paine architects present the overarching design ideas\, walk us through the project under construction\, and talk about some lessons learned. \nThe NC Central Student Center project is a 105\,000sf student center accommodating a broad range of program elements. Located in Durham\, North Carolina along the campus’s historical street frontage\, the new facility will act as a symbol of welcome and identity for the campus\, while also linking the campus and its community. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2021 opening to the students in the Fall of 2021.  As with all EP|YAF events\, everyone is welcome!  Hard hats optional.

DESCRIPTION:EP|YAF Present\nMENTORSHIP PODS\na virtual mentorship collaborative with\nAIAS NCSU\, AIAS Wake Tech\, AGSA\, and NCSU College of Design \nMarch 11\, 2021\n11:30 am – 1:00 pm \nThe purpose of this event is to provide students\, especially those of a diverse background\, with mentorship opportunities during this unprecedented time. Three virtual mentorship sessions with students will be held on Thursday\, February 18th\, Thursday\, March 11th\, and Thursday\, April 8th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. \nWe will match architects\, emerging professionals\, and students into pods based on similar interests and goals for mentorship. The first meeting will be a general meet and greet\, followed by topic-focused sessions\, such as portfolio and resume reviews. \nInterested?  \nParticipants should email EP/YAF for more information.

DESCRIPTION:EP/YAF Virtual Hard Hat Tour – Boxyard RTP \nMarch 31\, 2021 | 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm \nCE credit pending approval \nJoin EP/YAF for a guided virtual tour (hard hats optional for those at home) through the construction of Boxyard RTP. An excellent opportunity to catch a glimpse of this unique project and the lessons learned from designing with shipping containers. \nCallisonRTKL led the design for Boxyard RTP. a 15\,000 square foot cargotecture development coming to the Frontier Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus in 2021. Leading the design of over a dozen unique and inviting vendor spaces are local firms Matthew Konar Architect\, EVOKE Studio and is design. Vendors include first time buildouts and expanded locations of Fullsteam\, Lawrence Barbecue\, Beyu Caffé\, Wonderpuff and many other delicious and stylish local favorites. \n“We’re most excited about the unification potential of Boxyard RTP\,” says Tom Hippman\, project manager at CRTKL. “It will serve as a much-needed hub for RTP’s corporate tenants—with many flexible retail and food and beverage options\, this will be an ever-evolving space to work\, shop and play.” \nCompanies in RTP innovate every single day since its inception in 1959. With 300+ companies\, the historic Park is home to some of the world’s many breakthroughs\, inviting ideas\, connections\, and the next big thing. For the first time ever\, these innovative minds can finally meet\, eat\, connect and unwind inside the Park.
