DESCRIPTION:CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – AIA Triangle LEGO®  BrickUniverse Competition \nAIA Triangle K12 Outreach is calling for submissions of your best architecture related LEGO® builds! \nLEGO has become a part of architecture’s collective conscience – an inspiration\, a modeling tool\, a nostalgic driver for those of us who grew up piecing together worlds with tiny blocks. LEGO BrickUniverse is an annual event coming to Downtown Raleigh featuring professional artists and work by LEGO enthusiasts. \nAIA Triangle will be hosting a booth at the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Event at the Raleigh Convention Center on JUNE 28-29\, 2025 to help showcase our industry and expand awareness of AIA Triangle and our network of architects in the area. As a resource to students\, we will distribute information about careers in architecture\, area camps\, workshops\, and mentorship programs to grow our career pipeline. In addition\, we will be offering 80 student tickets to attend the event.  \nYour builds can be a replica of one of your projects\, design in progress\, dream building\, local landmark\, or some other architecture related build showcasing principles from the AIA Framework for Design Excellence. \n\nPlease submit this interest form by Friday\,05/09/2025 at 5pm and direct any questions to AIATrianglek12@gmail.com.  AIA Triangle LEGO®  BrickUniverse Competition\nFinalized creations are due to AIA NC Headquarters (14 E Peace Street\, Raleigh) by Monday\, 06/09/2025 at 5pm for local judging and submission to BrickUniverse convention organizers.\n\nBlocks for your submission are supplied by each individual team. SUMMARY:NC Zoo Asia Exhibit: Case Study and Tour
DESCRIPTION:Building Enclosure Council – Research Triangle and Charlotte Chapters Present: \nNC Zoo Asia Exhibit: Case Study and Tour\nFriday\, June 27th\nNC Zoo\, Stedman Education Center\, Asheboro NC \nJoin us for a case study and project tour presented by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and Rodgers Builders of the recently constructed Asia Exhibit before the official opening to the public in 2026!  This expansion project\, as part of the NC Connect Bond funding and generous donations from their Zoo Society Members\, will highlight habitats for iconic species such as tigers\, Komodo dragons\, Visayan warty pigs\, Asian small-clawed otters\, king cobras\, and white-cheeked gibbons.  The 12.5-acre project site\, located in the heart of the 2\,000-acre zoo\, consists of over 8 structures including an entrance bridge\, 300-person café\, gift shop\, viewing pavilion\, animal habitats\, and support buildings\, all designed to incorporate the textures\, shapes\, technology\, and cultural references from the animals’ native origins.  This event collaboration between the Charlotte and Research Triangle Building Enclosure Council chapters will take place on Friday June 27th and begin at the Stedman Education Center at the NC Zoo.  3 AIA CEUs (pending). \nEvent Schedule:\n9:00am                Registration & Breakfast\n9:30am                Project Presentation\n11:00am             Asia Exhibit Tour (Tram to tour location boards immediately after presentation)\n12:30pm             Event Ends \nRegistration: members/non-members $30 (includes Zoo Entry and Tram ticket)\, space is limited\, registration opens May 30th! \nClick here for information and to register.
