SUMMARY:WIA and NAWIC present Unplugged: We Messed Up
DESCRIPTION:WIA and NAWIC present Unplugged: ‘We Messed Up’\nThursday\, August 27\, 2026\n5:00 – 7:00 p.m.\nCBI Raleigh\n625 Oberlin Rd. | Raleigh\, NC 27605\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nNAWIC Triangle and AIAT’s WIA co-host a unique evening of honest conversation\, meaningful connection\, and shared experiences. We Messed Up is built around a simple but powerful idea: every successful leader has made mistakes\, yet those stories are often the ones we hear the least. \nThroughout the evening\, women leaders will share brief\, personal stories about a career misstep\, how they recovered\, and what they learned from the experience. Their stories will be relatable\, insightful\, and a reminder that growth often comes from the moments that don’t go as planned. Before the program begins\, enjoy networking over drinks and light bites. Attendance is limited to encourage authentic conversation and meaningful connection. \nOur hope is that attendees leave feeling more confident taking risks\, knowing that even accomplished leaders have had moments they’d rather forget.

SUMMARY:COTE Fall Lecture Series -- Embodied Carbon of Structural Systems
DESCRIPTION:COTE Fall Lecture Series\nTuesday\, October 27 — Embodied Carbon of Structural Systems\nAs operational carbon decreases\, embodied carbon is becoming an increasingly important consideration in sustainable building design. Because many of the structural decisions with the greatest sustainability impact occur early in design\, early collaboration between architects and structural engineers presents a significant opportunity to reduce a project’s environmental footprint. This session will introduce the primary sources of embodied carbon in building structural systems and discuss practical strategies for incorporating embodied carbon considerations into early project planning. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how design decisions influence embodied carbon in the structural systems and how early collaboration between architects and structural engineers can support project sustainability goals. \n \nAll Lectures will be from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.  at the Center for Architecture and Design.
