SUMMARY:Building Conversations: Architects and Local Leaders -- Breakfast Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Breakfast Roundtable on Friday March 27th in Hillsborough!  \nBuilding Conversations: Architects and Local Leaders is a morning roundtable bringing together local elected officials and members of the design profession for meaningful dialogue about the future of our communities.  This is the fourth and final event in our series in collaboration with AIA Triangle.   \nOver a light breakfast\, we’ll explore how zoning\, housing policy\, and planning decisions impact affordability\, sustainability\, walkability\, and civic design\, and why architects should be at the table when those decisions are made.   \nThis is more than a networking event; it’s an opportunity to influence how our cities grow. Architects and designers are uniquely positioned to help shape equitable\, people-centered places\, and this conversation is a critical step toward making design a central part of public policy. \nFriday\,  March 27th • 8:00am – 10:00am \nAntonia’s Restaurant • 101 N Churton St\, Hillsborough\, NC 27278\nHosted by AIA Triangle and CityBuilder • Funded by the AIA NC ACTIVATE Grant

SUMMARY:AIAT x NCSU Joint Lecture Series - Susan Rodriguez
DESCRIPTION:Spring 2026  Joint Lecture Series\nNC State School of Architecture and AIA Triangle \nSusan Rodriguez\n \nMonday\, March 30 | 5:30 – 7:00 PM\nNC State University\nKamphoefner Hall\, Burns Auditorium\n2221 Stinson Dr. | Raleigh\, NC\nTo attend via Zoom instead\, register here \nPlease join the College of Design for the spring 2026 architecture lecture series. This is the Harwell Hamilton Harris Lecture. \nSusan Rodriguez\, Susan T Rodriguez | Architecture · Design\nSusan T Rodriguez | Architecture · Design was founded in 2017\, combining more than thirty years of design leadership with a passionate belief in the power of architecture to affect change and improve the quality of life for all. The studio\, a New York City certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise and federally certified Women-Owned Small Business\, builds upon an award-winning body of work recognized internationally for design excellence and contributing to the vitality of cities\, landscapes and the communities and institutions it serves. Central to the practice is an emphasis on addressing pressing issues in contemporary society through design that promotes the wellbeing of communities and the long-term sustainability of the environment.   \nDesigning at the intersection of architecture and the public realm\, the studio distills the essence of cultures and communities through work that ranges in scale and type\, from interventions in historic precincts to new large-scale monumental buildings. To each project\, STR | A·D brings an attitude about design that connects people to place and to each other through an architecture of interpretation. The work is inspired by the confluence of history\, site\, program and the relationship of interior and exterior space. Whether rural landscape\, campus setting or a dense urban context\, STR | A·D seeks to create an architecture that is fused with its surroundings and the natural world.
