DESCRIPTION:NC State Woodson Hall Hard Hat Tour with WIA \nWednesday\, June 24\, 20265:30 – 7:00 p.m.Woodson Hall — NCSU Main Campus near the Brickyard1 LU | HSWPPE Required \nFREE for AIAT Members and Annual Partners$15 for Non-Members \n \nCome tour the first new construction project on NC State’s main campus at the Brickyard with WIA! This signature building was designed by ZGF and Moseley Architects\, and is being constructed by Skanska. This project has incredible women leadership on all fronts and we’re excited to share this tour with you all. PPE and appropriate attire will be required: long pants\, shirts with sleeves (4in minimum)\, closed toed shoes\, hard hat\, eye protection and gloves. \n\nAbout the Project:\nWoodson Hall is the physical core of NC State’s Integrative Sciences Initiative (ISI) program – aimed at transforming teaching\, research and discovery in chemistry and other STEM fields at NC State – the 165\,947-square-foot building will showcase and celebrate the sciences. The facility will feature cutting-edge classrooms\, teaching labs\, core research facilities\, collaboration and study spaces\, as well as office areas and a café. The building design and layout allows for flexibility to support interdisciplinary sciences such as chemistry\, biochemistry and biotechnology research.\n \n \n \nAbout the Speakers:\n\nMary Beth Russo is a Senior Project Manager at Skanska. She is also a licensed Structural Engineer and worked as a Project Manager for an architecture and engineering firm for over a decade. She has a strong track record of leading complex projects from concept through completion. She brings a unique blend of technical design expertise\, strategic planning\, and project leadership\, enabling teams to deliver high-quality results while meeting client goals\, budgets\, and schedules. With experience guiding multidisciplinary teams and coordinating stakeholders across all phases of development\, Mary Beth is known for her thoughtful approach\, attention to detail\, and commitment to creating functional\, well-executed spaces. Her dual perspective as both a project leader and an designer allows her to balance design intent with practical execution\, making her a trusted partner for clients and colleagues alike.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nJessica Peterson is an Interior Designer at ZGF and a Fitwel Ambassador with experience in higher education\, workplace\, laboratory\, and federal environments. She contributed to the design of North Carolina State University\, Woodson Hall\, where her work focused on creating interiors that support interdisciplinary learning\, collaboration\, wellness\, and day-to-day functionality. Her work is grounded in user needs\, program clarity\, and a human-centered approach—shaping adaptable environments that align with client goals and enhance connection and well-being. \n
