This course focuses on the importance of color selection in architectural design as illustrated through the work of influential architects and designers, while exploring the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2023 palette and concept.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Recognize the importance of color selection in interior design as illustrated through the work of two influential interior designers who used color as a characteristic of their projects, impacting the future of interior design.
Using various structures as examples, understand the role that color plays in architecture and how selected architects used color in creative and unexpected ways.
Connect the color selection process to the importance of specifying products with performance attributes that will bring color and design vision to life.
Be cognizant of the ways in which Light Reflectance Value (LRV) is critical to understand how a given color will react to the lighting in a space. Understand the concepts and points of inspiration that influenced the development of the Color Trends 2023 palette.

James Brice is an Architectural + Design Representative for Benjamin Moore with over twenty-five years experience in the architectural products industry, during which time he has worn many hats, including designer, salesperson, project manager, product developer, marketer, trainer, and brand evangelist. In his current role with Benjamin Moore, James draws upon his experience and diverse skill-set to support the architecture and design community in the southeast region, providing product and color education, technical consultations, and specification writing.
