The AIA 2030 Commitment is an actionable climate strategy that gives us a set of standards and goals for reaching net zero emissions in the built environment. The latest climate data tells us that reducing carbon emissions is not enough. To make the biggest impact, we must all commit to net zero emissions by 2030—a path that requires strong, immediate action. Since the built environment creates a staggering 40% of the world’s emissions, architects, engineers, and owners play a key role. Hear from architects representing a variety of firms about their experience with the AIA 2030 Commitment, the challenges they have faced, how they have overcome these hurdles, and what the future looks like to achieve this lofty goal.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1) Participants will learn about the need for firms to join the AIA 2030 Commitment and what impact they can personally make in their careers
2) Participants will understand the requirements of the AIA 2030 Commitment and how this framework can be utilized by firms at every size and for every project type
3) Participants will identify and assess the common barriers to the AIA 2030 Commitment and collaboratively contemplate strategies to overcome these hurdles
4) Participants will create an action plan for their firm to join the AIA 2030 Commitment
