Robin Abrams, Ph.D., FAIA, ASLA, is an architect and landscape architect specializing in inner city revitalization, housing, and city design. She earned a bachelors degree in Urban Studies from Northwestern University, a Masters in Community & Regional Planning and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctorate in Landscape Studies from the University of Sheffield, England.
She leads a design practice based in Austin, TX, and London, UK, where she works on contemporary restoration of city neighborhoods, older buildings and landscapes. Her teaching and research are focused on livability and sustainability issues in global cities, the integration of natural systems into design of landscapes, buildings and urban places, and how intelligent design can improve lives, reduce waste and promote equity. In addition, Dr. Abrams is the executive director of the City Design Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports student research in the design of resilient cities.
