PROGRAM
We will review ways in which viruses are thought to be transmitted, in addition to recognized methods of controlling the transmission and spread of viruses, with specific emphasis on SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We will consider recommendations for the potential retrofit of existing buildings for the purpose of making them more effective in containing potential virus exposure. We will also consider potential future modifications in the approach to the design of building HVAC systems, with special consideration being given to virus containment. We will evaluate the implications of implementing HVAC related virus spread mitigation measures, both from a general cost perspective and the impact on other building systems.
