Session #1: Meeting Design and Performance Requirements with Pultruded Fiberglass Windows and Doors
This course will familiarize you with the basic aspects of fiberglass composites, with a specific emphasis on pultruded fiberglass. By examining the performance characteristics, durability, and numerous environmental advantages of pultruded fiberglass, this course will outline the advantages of windows and doors made from pultruded fiberglass and use case studies to demonstrate applications across a wide variety of multi-family and commercial build environments. 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Discuss how composite materials provide predictable, sustainable and superior performance characteristics over other materials.
  • Explain the production of fiberglass composites and the advantages of the pultrusion process from a manufacturing and environmental perspective
  • Identify the performance characteristics of windows and doors made from pultruded fiberglass and how they help meet the latest design trends that maximize light, air and views for building-user well-being
  • Discuss finishes, AAMA certification and energy efficiency for pultruded fiberglass windows and doors
  • Explore case studies of pultruded fiberglass windows and doors in various projects for performance, resiliency, and sustainability.

Cheryl McRae | Architectural Project Manager | Marvin
Cheryl McRae has worked for Marvin for ten years with a focus on clients in the south and mid-Atlantic. Cheryl recently began to serve the Triangle and Triad areas of North Carolina. Through all her work, Cheryl aims to educate architects on window and door solutions for their residential and commercial projects with an emphasis on Marvin products.

Session #2: Transforming Residential Design Through Unique Applications of Interior Doors
This course demonstrates the role interior doors can play in transforming residential interior design.

Chris Roberson | Vice President | Mid-Atlantic Millwork Sales
Chris spent 12 years working as a sales manager for Benchmark Steel Doors before joining the Mid-Atlantic Millwork Sales team as a partner in 2000. Today he is the vice-president of the company, responsible for Central and Southern Virginia.
