Making It Easier To meet Fire Codes using Value Added Engineered Wood Building Products       

Earn 1 HSW CE credit

This course provides an overview of fire-rated cementitious coated OSB (FRCC OSB) sheathing for wall and roof sheathing applications in terms of its structural and performance properties, as well as its most common applications. We will also discuss the calculative method and using a combination of engineered wood to accomplish 1-hour fire rated walls

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the components and understand the physical attributes of fire-rated cementitious coated OSB (FRCC OSB) sheathing
  2. Learn how FRCC OSB sheathing can be used to meet code requirements while reducing labor costs and construction time 
  3. Become acquainted with code requirements and testing standards relevant to FRCC OSB sheathing
  4. Demonstrate common construction applications including the calculative method relevant to FRCC OSB sheathing and other value-added engineered wood products
