Sense Your City: Adventures in Human-Centered Design
Join us on September 28th for a half-day event that invites the community to engage with Downtown Chapel Hill through the lens of human-centered design—a philosophy that prioritizes the human experience in our built environment. This event encourages participants to explore, imagine, and discover what a truly human-centered environment means to them. This event is free and open to the public. Families welcome.

Part 1: Film Clips & Panel Discussion – 1 AIA HSW
Location: Varsity Theatre | Time: 9:30 AM – 11 AM
- Explore examples of human-centered design from around the world.
Part 2: Design Adventures in Downtown Chapel Hill
Location: Varsity Theatre | Time: 11 AM – 12:30 PM
- Engage in interactive “Design Adventures” that challenge your senses and imagination.
Part 3: Celebration and Conversations
Location: Garden Spot (behind Lantern) | Time: 12:30 PM – 2 PM
- Gather for snacks, drinks, and conversations about the day’s discoveries.
- Share your observations and join in discussions on how human-centered design can enrich our town.
