This year’s theme, Strength in Action: Women Redefining Leadership in Architecture, celebrates the unique strengths women bring to the profession and their role in reshaping the industry in innovative ways. The event kicks off with a keynote highlighting how women are leading in diverse and impactful ways across our industry. Following the keynote, a panel of accomplished women—including small, midsize, and large firms—will share career stories, challenges, and lessons learned in a dynamic discussion with participants.

The morning concludes with breakout table discussions, offering attendees the chance to reflect, exchange ideas, and connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders. Topics will include discovering strengths, overcoming barriers, redefining leadership, and closing the gap.

Je’Nen launched her Raleigh-based consulting practice in 2019, following 10 years working in architectural practice in the Bay Area. Blending her background in architecture and an MBA in social entrepreneurship, she now focuses on helping AEC leaders drive strategic growth and transformation within their companies. Angela Watson, FAIA – President and CEO at Shepley Bulfinch
Angela became CEO of Shepley Bulfinch in 2021, leading the firm into its next era while honoring its 150-year legacy. A nationally recognized design leader with over 20 years of experience, she also represents Shepley Bulfinch on the AIA Large Firm Round Table contributing to vital conversations on industry leadership.

Cathy Morrison, CEO – Partner at Neighboring Concepts
As CEO of Neighboring Concepts, Cathy is leading this purpose-driven, midsize firm into its next chapter. An active leader with NCARB and the North Carolina Board of Architecture, she also spearheads the firm’s healthcare projects. The firm was recently honored with the Equitable and Inclusive Practice Award by AIA North Carolina and NC NOMA.

Megan Kaufmann, AIA – Founder and Principal of KC Studios
Megan is the founder and principal of KC Studios, a Raleigh-based architecture practice she launched in 2017. Since its founding, the firm has grown into a team of five, specializing in commercial and healthcare projects across North Carolina. As an entrepreneur and architect, Megan is passionate about supporting women in practice.
