TOUR OF RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE

ABOUT THE EVENT

Every year, architects submit their most innovative residential designs to the AIA Triangle Tour of Residential Architecture Task Force and they are judged to see if they meet the selection criteria developed by the Task Force. The homes include a variety of projects including new construction, but also historic preservation, renovations & additions, urban infill, & adaptive reuse, and condominiums to name a few.

The best from the 10-county Triangle region are chosen for the Tour, a ticketed event that takes place every fall where the homes are opened up to the public to tour at their leisure.  Architects and docents are on-site to answer questions and provide an in-depth look at the architecture of each of the homes. For 2023, the Tour will feature projects in Wake County.

Each of the projects has a unique story to tell as they journey from concept to move-in-ready homes.  The architects faced challenges to deliver these awe-inspiring works, but an architect is nothing if not a problem-solver.  Come learn how architects are able to achieve the near impossible regardless of scale, scope, location, or style.
